My Apostrophe

My Apostrophe

I searched throughout the graveyard
found nobody there
just another firm remind
of the fate that we all share.

The race of living and dying
has long been lost to me.
To set out on a journey,
to watch your old life slip away.

I search for you,
Will you appear for me
I scream for you,
Until my throat bleeds
Would I die for you
You died for me
My apostrophe

I ravaged hill-side villages,
all their faces looked the same;
though their eyes were looking outward
they were content to play the game.

It takes a different kind of eye to see,
we're all inside a cage,
Humanities greatest feats,
are the lies we all believe.

On top the lonely mountain,
I hear the hollow echo;
the dark shadow of a man,
whose life was lived for sin.

As the sun sets on the journey,
not a word has yet been said.
The voice is not the message,
but the life we live instead.

Chorus x2

My Apostrophe

To live for you is to die for me
My Apostrophe
Through my life you answer me
